Just imagine how awesome Season 2 would’ve been had they played it edgier with a darker Matthew Crawley. There should have been an extensive emotional rehabilitation for him in addition to the physical recovery. He should have been a match for Mary’s angst rather than remain the same milquetoast man from Season 1.
