Quite unintentionally, this site became dedicated to the talented and surprising Michelle Dockery. My aim is to provide fresh material and perspective for her fans.
In the 'Michelle Dockery Professional Archive' link below you will find the most complete collection of her screen performances on the internet.
I am based in California.
Michelle’s style was actually key for me becoming a fan. I think what did it was that scarf watch that she turned into a pendant. That told a story of who she is, whimsical, off-beat, observant. I loved the daisy locket and black nail polish, and all those Peter Pan collars as well. It’s the sort of inviting quirkiness that I’d notice in real life.
Fashion has to strike a balance between expressing individuality and aesthetic conformity. I’ve never commented much on her red carpet style because the format skews toward the latter. But it can work together perfectly. The two Carolina Herrera outfits she wore at NYFW, the radish dress and the blue and white chestnut seed shirt come to mind. Her style team really out did themselves.
These days there’s a drought of Michelle’s candids so there’s less for me to work with. Those pictures of her sheep pattern cardigan really made me laugh. She needs to get one with a sheep wearing a jumper, that would be meta.
You’re asking about two different pendants. The watch pendant started out as a scarf watch that someone told me was similar to those sold at Selfridges. Michelle later repurposed it as a pendant. I’ve seen Laura Carmichael do the same thing with her watch in solidarity.
Someone else found a locket identical to the one she often wears in an American antique store. It’s said to be a 1970s vintage 14k pedant with two pierced daisies on the lid. There are no manufacturer markings.
To me these are a sign of a sentimental personality and someone who understands style is not always about wearing new and expensive things. Michelle likes all things vintage and uses her imagination to find new uses for stuff she owns instead of throwing them away.
